When I Think of You

©1987 by Steve Macdonald

When I think of you
All the world begins to glow
Now the sky seems so blue
Darkness takes a fatal blow

You warmed me on that cold night
You took me home, I was alone
And when you told me you loved me;
I saw then I loved you to.

So we walk with the sun
Underneath the forest, green.
She says our life has just begun
And I finally begin to see

Now she warms me on cold nights
She is my home, I’m not alone
And when she tells me she loves me
All I know is I love her, too.

All I know is I love her, too.

I wrote this for Susan while eating for her in South Bend, Indiana as she was testing for her Indiana Teacher’s Certificate. Which is appropos of nothing; but helps keep my memory locked in time.
