Tightrope

©1988 by Steve Macdonald

When I sit here
Quietly thinkin’
Of my life
And how life’s
Work needs to be done;

I can’t help
Sittin’ back
Quietly believin’
There’s a balance
You must keep
To live all your own.

Chorus
Walk your tightrope
With gladness in your heart.
Look left, look right;
And then make your start.
Your tightrope is your lifeline
Your ladder to the stars;
It’ll always bring you home.

When you look at
Your life today
There is more life,
More strife,
Things to bring you down.

Then you face front,
Draw a line
Between you and where you’re going.
Then you walk that
Tightrope
To your goal

Chorus
Walk your tightrope
With gladness in your heart.
Look left, look right;
And then make your start.
Your tightrope is your lifeline
Your ladder to the stars;
It’ll always bring you home.
It’ll always lead you home.
