One O’Clock

One o’clock now in the mornin
I sit here thinkin’
About how you slept on through the night
Dawn there’s nearly breakin
And you’re just a-wakin’
Wipin’ the sleep out of your eyes

One o’clock now in the daylight
I sit with eyes wide
Wonder how you slept on through the night
Dawn there’s nearly breakin’
And you’re just a-wakin’
Wipin’ the sleep out of your eyes

How many hours must pass away?
How many dreams do we dream?
How many miles pass between our thoughts
As thoughts drift over the sea…
And you’ll watch over me.

Nine o’clock here in the evenin’
I sit here thinkin’
As my day winds slowly down to evening’s end
In the light of phosphor glow
We touch, and we know
Carried on electron’s whispered call.

Three o’clock here in the daylight
I sit with eyes wide
Wonder how passed on through your day
In the light of phosphor glow
We touch, and we know
Carried on electron’s whispered call.

How many hours must pass away?
How many dreams do we dream?
How many miles pass between our thoughts
As thoughts drift over the sea…
And you’ll watch over me.
