Wish Upon A Star

Wish Upon A Star

Lyric (c) 4/98 Diana Huey
Music (c) 4/98 Diana Huey and Steven Macdonald

Once upon a time ago, I spent my youth on dreams of flight
And I was proud to be our first, to orbit Earth from such a height
But only one time did I go, I can't forget that wondrous sight.

And in my prime, the tables turned; I had the hardest choice to make
Ignore the calling of my heart, make no more trips to outer space
And take up the place I'd earned and learn to lead and legislate.

I dreamed of stars, made a wish & took a chance.
I went to the stars, grabbed my dream with both hands.
My dreams came true when I wished upon a star.

Now I've reached my twilight years and many say I've grown too old
They don't remember when our space program flew strong and bold
Now the table's turned again, I go to claim this dream I hold.

I dreamed of stars, made a wish & took a chance.
I went to the stars, grabbed my dream with both hands.
I'll always dream, always wish upon a star.

Aeroplanes & model rockets
Were set aside for bills & dockets,
But I still know the way out there!

I dream of stars, made my wish, I'll take a chance.
I'll go to the stars, I'll grab hold with both hands.
I'll always dream, always wish upon a star.
My dreams came true when I wished upon a star.
May your dreams come true when i wished upon a star.

Return home.
